Hey everyone...............Just thought I would give this blog thing a try........
Here in France for 10 days. Linda and I are visiting Katie in Nantes, where she is going to school at the University of Nantes for her junior year. They have a program in cooperation with the University of Washington so Katie won't be interupting her studies while studying abroad. She is having a great time. To keep up on her read her blog at the following address...........

Linda and I flew over to France , via Amsterdam (AMS) (on Northwest of course), and were lucky enough to get the last 2 seats in Business Class. The trip was great, getting in early and connecting to an earlier (Air France) flight to Paris -Charles De Gaulle (CDG) and that went smoothly. The only problem was that Linda's bag didn't make our flight to CDG, and was going on the original flight I booked on, which was 3 hrs later. We got to enjoy the airport for 3 hours longer than we liked, but finally got to get going . We drove out to Nantes, which should have taken about 4 hours but took us the rest of the day, due to numerous stops in rest areas and a stop to eat on the way. We finally got here at about 10pm local, and checked in to our comfortable, and quaint hotel. Check it out on the website below.

Last night we toured the town with our daughter, Katie, who has become quite the "local". Her command of the French language is impressive and quite helpful in the restaurant and cafes in town. We went to the Creperie Ste Croix, a restaurant that serves only crepes (hence the name).
The 3 of us had a wonderful meal together. The big experience was having a beer (1664, my favorite from the English Pubs) with our "little daughter, who is almost 21 and legal to drink (drinking age over here 16 ).
Back to the room and a good night sleep, and today we are off for some local touring and monday off to the Normandy coast an the beaches that cost the allies so much to save the freedom of the world...............
Will try to post our comings and goings here to keep anyone who is interested up to date on our travels....................
